Every Tax Dollar, Accounted For
The Auditor is entrusted with the county's financial oversight — and that trust has to be earned every single day. Sheryl holds herself, and the office, to a simple standard: accuracy first, and every dollar accounted for.
As an IRS Enrolled Agent with more than 20 years as a tax professional, Sheryl has spent her career reconciling the books, meeting strict deadlines, and getting the numbers right. She applies that same discipline to the county's finances — careful reconciliation, clean records, and compliance with every state and federal reporting requirement.
Good stewardship is not just about spending less; it is about spending honestly and reporting clearly. Residents deserve to know that the money they send to the county is tracked, documented, and defensible. Sheryl safeguards county finances so that taxpayers can have confidence in the numbers — and so the county is always ready to answer for them.
Secure, Trustworthy Elections
Few responsibilities matter more than running elections that are accurate, secure, and transparent. Confidence in the result depends on accountability at every step — and that is exactly what Sheryl delivers.
Sheryl is committed to elections that voters across Walla Walla County can trust: careful processes, clear communication, and a willingness to show the public how the work is done. When residents have questions, they deserve straight answers and an open door — not silence.
From ballot handling to certification, accuracy and integrity guide every decision. Sheryl will continue to safeguard the process, communicate clearly with voters, and stand accountable for results the whole community can rely on.
Open & Accessible Public Records
Licensing, recording, and public records are where most residents actually meet the Auditor's office — and where good service makes the biggest difference. Sheryl is focused on making those services efficient, accurate, and genuinely accessible.
Whether someone is recording a deed, securing a license, or requesting a public document, they deserve a process that is prompt, transparent, and easy to navigate. Sheryl works to cut unnecessary friction, keep records accurate, and make sure information that belongs to the public is available to the public.
From Walla Walla and College Place to Waitsburg, Prescott, Touchet, and the surrounding valley, every resident should feel well-served by their county Auditor. That commitment to open, accessible records is at the heart of how Sheryl runs the office.
Modern Systems & Customer Service
An accountable office is also an efficient one. Sheryl is committed to modernizing the systems behind the counter so the work is faster, more accurate, and easier for residents and staff alike.
Up-to-date tools mean fewer errors, shorter waits, and better record-keeping — all of which protect taxpayer dollars and improve the experience for everyone the office serves. Sheryl brings a practical, results-oriented approach to keeping county systems current and reliable.
Strong systems are only half the story; people are the other half. Sheryl is focused on building a stronger team and a culture of friendly, accurate service, so that every resident who walks in or calls is treated with respect and helped the right way the first time.
Experience You Can Trust
Accountability is not just a promise — it is a track record. Sheryl brings the credentials, the experience, and the local roots that the Auditor's office demands.
She is an IRS Enrolled Agent with more than 20 years as a tax professional in bookkeeping, banking, and financial services. She holds an Executive MBA in Strategic Leadership and a B.S. in Office Administration from Walla Walla University, and she has completed CPA exam-qualifying coursework. As the owner of Sheryl's Bookkeeping & Tax Service, she has spent her career being trusted with other people's numbers.
Appointed Walla Walla County Auditor in February 2026, Sheryl is already doing the work. She has lived in Walla Walla County for 30 years, raised her children here, and given back as Treasurer of the Walla Walla County Republican Party, an AARP Tax-Aide volunteer since 2015, and a volunteer youth soccer coach. It is experience you can trust — put to work for the community she calls home.
